The interesting thing about personality is some things never change at our core. Certain likes and dislikes stay the same. But for those of us who are on the path to become a better person, we do evolve. In ways that count, we emerge from our cocoons and fly like butterflies! Although unlike these gorgeous airy creatures, it is a continual process and not a one-time transformation. We are reborn again and again, always learning and growing, soaring to new heights.
You see, I've always been a cat person. Every cat is my friend. My favorite color is still purple. Antiques make my eyes light up. Mexican food is my go to comfort food. Stevie Nicks is my favorite singer. I have always loved everything Bohemian. My nickname has been Queen seemingly forever. Reading, writing, poetry, art and photography make my soul happy! Dreams, visions and strong intuition serve me well. A survivor, a warrior, resilient, I get up when knocked down. Stubborn or tenacious, still true. These are a few things of many that remain unchanged about me.
And yet, so many things are different now. I find healthier ways to self soothe. The way I treat other people and myself is on a higher level. I learned what boundaries are and how to put them into place with love. Self love and self respect means I can give from a cup that isn't empty. I am kinder, calmer, more serene, self assured and introspective. Closer to God. Truer to myself. Happier! Better in my relationships. More grateful than ever!
Change, real change, the kind that transforms your life, it happens gradually. At times it comes through your life feeling like a hurricane. Sometimes it drags you kicking and screaming and other times it's like floating in a pool of water under a waterfall in the Garden of Eden.
I keep walking my path, putting one foot in front of the other. Baby steps become strides. Embracing the metamorphosis. Spreading my wings!
